I'm thinking of getting them. What brand solution do you soak it in? Just curious. Would appreciate your responses, thank you.

the solutions nowadays are great........they're "all in one"

back in the day you had to rinse them and soak them overnight in one solution and then use a separate "protein cleaner" solution to remove the protein build-up your eyes would leave on the lenses...

now, pretty much all solutions sold in the stores (grocery stores, drug stores, everywhere) have the "protein cleaner/remover" included in the solution...

so you just rinse and store overnight with the same solution...

i use Bausch & Lomb....but Acuvue is good too. although, if i run out and the store is out of a certain brand i like, i might by the generic type (most drug stores make their own generic solution, it's all the same stuff)

you really can't go wrong with any contact solution....as long as it has the protein remover in the solution.

I don't wear them every day anymore so I use the 1 day disposable kind. Don't need any solution.

I had Lasik done about 4 years ago. I had a very bad astigmatism in both eyes. The first surgery did not correct my vision all the way. After 3 months I had a correction. Since then the astigmatism has come back in one of my eyes. I would like to have another correction but my doctor does not want to perform another one because he is afraid it will just come back again. He is afraid that if I have one more surgery my cornea will be too thin and I could have problems down the road. I may get a second opinion. I know several people that have had it and they all love it. Despit my problems I am really glad I had it.

I may need them soon. I hope not. But why is this topic in the Rubber Room? I am still trying to learn how this forum works, so forgive me.

After soaking it in opti-free, do you guys rinse it with a saline solution before putting it in your eyes?

that is an all in one solution...you can go straight from the soaking to the eye. You can squirt a little of the same stuff on if you want as well before putting in your eye.

You associate a lot of your identity with sperm, don't you? Sperm means a lot to you doesn't it? One key question we can ask: is it your own sperm that's important to you or is it just sperm in general (animals, people, smiley faces,....)?

been wearing cl for 30 years. tried the all in 1 solution, but i dont think they clean the lenses so well. i use sensitive eyes daily cleaner, soak in peroxide overnite, then rinse w/ saline in AM.change lenses monthly. you can get you Rx from a local optical shop (make sure they test you for glaucoma yearly, a silent cause of blindness). then buy lenses online. much cheaper that way.

btw, i would never do lasik. lots of people swear by it, but you only have 1 pair of eyes. plenty of screw ups and complications, not worth the risk, imho.

you'll get my bill in the am!!!:103631605

docslep!!

I am planning on using the peroxide system. I got the aosept from ciba vision. I heard to leave it in for 6+ hours, anything less can be dangerous.

Do you think I can skip the daily cleaner part? I read other people skip it, have you ever? And how did it work out? I have 2 week lenses.

when i was in college, i used to wear them for more than a month at a time, but now i think thats crazy.
i always clean them, that takes off any eyecrud which can make a film.

the peroxide cleans in a different way, so use both.

they make a sensitive eyes cleaner, a lot less soapy, but they rinse off easily. so, when you put them in the next day, no irritation.

also never run or soak in water. that makes the lens lose their shape. good luck.
